Corolla Outer Banks Vacation
The main Corolla tourist season is, obviously, summer – from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Fall is heavenly on the Outer Banks because the crowds are thinner, the rates are a bit cheaper, all of the businesses are still open, the locals are in fabulous moods and the weather is still mild. And don’t overlook winter and spring, when you can definitely get an accommodation bargain and some isolation, though not all of the businesses will be open. While Corolla’s draw isn’t as a big recreation hotspot on the Outer Banks, it does offer kayak tours, Jet Ski rentals, surfing lessons, fishing charters, wild horse-finding trips, go-carts, a links-style golf course and tennis courts to keep you busy all day long. The only thing you might long for in Corolla is nightlife. There are a few bars that now offer live entertainment during the summer season, but if you want to hop from spot to spot, this isn’t the scene. It’s really okay, though, since most Corolla residents and vacationers tend to prefer quiet nights -- a late dinner out, a stroll on the beach, maybe a movie. There’s too much to do during the day to stay up all night! This online guide, which mirrors the guidebook section of the Corolla Walking Tour and Guidebook, gives you all the info you need to plan your vacation here and feel welcome and at ease. You can now order the Corolla Guidebook and Walking Tour online. In addition to the complete guidebook of Corolla, the book includes a specially mapped out and well-planned tour from the Whalehead Club and Currituck Beach Lighthouse to the historic homes and buildings of Corolla Village. |
